Who we are
61 West Labs Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17425611, registered office 46 Trelawney Road, Hainault, IG6 2NH. This policy explains what personal data we collect through https://61westlabs.co.uk, why, and what rights you have over it. Our mobile games have their own games privacy policy. If anything here isn't clear, email us at hello@61westlabs.co.uk and we'll explain it in plain terms.
What we collect
We only collect data you give us directly, through the contact form or the chat widget:
- Your name and email address
- Your company name, if you choose to share it
- Whatever you write in the message field, or say to the chat widget
We don't run website analytics or tracking cookies on this site. The chat widget's replies are generated by Anthropic's Claude API — we send it what you type so it can reply, and Anthropic's own privacy policy covers how they handle that. Google's reCAPTCHA checks the contact form isn't being submitted by a bot — see "Third parties" below for what that involves. This site's fonts are served from this site itself, so loading them involves no request to a third party.
Why we collect it, and on what basis
We use contact form and chat submissions for one purpose: to read your message and reply to it. We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and keeping the chat widget from being misused, and — where the enquiry leads to a project together — to take the steps needed to enter into a contract with you.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions and chat exchanges for as long as is reasonably needed to handle the enquiry, watch for misuse of the chat widget, and any conversation that follows — and delete them once that's no longer the case. Chat exchanges are kept in a rolling log capped at roughly the last 5,000 messages site-wide; older entries are automatically dropped as new ones come in. The name and email you enter to start a chat are kept in a similar rolling list (roughly the last 3,000 entries) and appear in a daily summary sent to our own inbox, so we can follow up if you asked us to. If your enquiry becomes a client relationship, the records relevant to that relationship are kept for as long as our legal and accounting obligations require.
Third parties
We share data with a small number of services that help us run this site and respond to you:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — powers the chat widget's replies. What you type is sent to Anthropic to generate a response; see their privacy policy.
- SMTP2GO — delivers contact form and chat-widget lead emails to our inbox.
- Google reCAPTCHA — checks contact form submissions for bot activity. Google's own privacy policy explains what it collects.
- Our hosting provider — the infrastructure this site runs on, which keeps standard server access logs (IP address, request time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting.
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct data that's wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your data, where there's no good reason for us to keep it
- Object to how we're processing your data
To use any of these, email hello@61westlabs.co.uk. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office , the UK's data protection regulator.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. We won't reduce your rights under this policy without your consent.
